Liquid Petroleum Gas Boilers are most commonly referred to as LPG Boilers. LPG is an alternative option used for homes that aren’t connected to the mains gas feed, and although it works in the same way as Natural Gas, it is slightly more expensive to run. However, the modern LPG boiler has equal efficiency to gas central heating systems and is considered to be more environmentally friendly than natural gases due to its clean burn qualities which burn completely.

Unlike Natural Gas, LPG is actually stored on site in a cylinder or tank, which is then supplied via a pipeline into the property. LPG is a denser liquid than gas, which means you can keep a substantial quantity in a relatively small space.

LPG central heating is commonly used in a wet heating system where a boiler heats water to provide central heating throughout radiators and hot water taps in a property. They are also available as LPG combi boilers which combine the water heater and central heating boiler into one unit. This is very economical on space a there is no need for an external water tank cylinder.

LPG boilers are particularly popular in properties situated in rural or remote locations where there is no direct access to the mains gas grid. This is a highly efficient fuel used to power the central heating; however it is relatively high in cost in comparison to other fuels.

The range of LPG Boilers are less than those available in Natural Gas Boilers, however some Natural Gas Boilers can be converted into an LPG Boiler.
